Welcome to n01getsout.com

Freeware is a term used for computer software that may be used legally without paying for it. Even this definition is extremely broad. The freeware I list on my site must not contain spyware or other types of malware and must not be a time limited demo.

Illegal use of commercial software is unnecessary because of the large amount of high quality freeware available. Sometimes freeware can be better than the commercial software it was made to replace. I figure that most people are unaware that most of these freeware programs even exist and so I am trying to promote them on my website. Think about it this way - if the FBI were to raid your house, how many years in prison would you get for having pirated software on your computer? Hopefully my site will allow you to reduce, if not completely eliminate, your prison term.   :P

Rooting My HTC G1

Why root?

I recently decided that I would "root" my T-Mobile G1 phone, thereby bypassing the normal security restrictions that keep me from accessing the Linux core of the Android operation system. For me, the main reason I decided to root was the limited amount of space to install applications on the G1. I had already begun uninstalling apps to make room for more and I believe the limited amount of free space caused the Android operating system to obsessively clear the cache.

VLC Media Player

The VLC Media Player is an excellent multimedia player that is capable of playing most types of audio and video files without the need to install separate codecs (like DivX, QuickTime, and Windows Media). It has the ability to stream media files and convert files to different types. It has a huge number of features, like full support for DVD and VCD menus and colored ASCII art video output. Woohoo!
